The 2024 BMW X5 doesn't launch entirely new versions but elevates existing ones. The erstwhile BMW X5 xDrive45e evolves into the xDrive50e. Concurrently, the prior M50i editions are rebranded as M60i. These transitions underline the upgraded powertrain range integrated into the 2024 BMW X5 revamp.

Newly conceived headlight units present arrow-like daytime driving lights which, besides pointing outward, serve as blinkers as well.

Enthusiasts now have the option to select an Illuminated Kidney Grille on specific variants like the BMW X5 xDrive50e and X5 xDrive40i. This unique illumination activates when a door opens and provides manual control to the driver through the iDrive menu. Enhancing the X5's modern design, the kidney grille is framed by artfully chiseled surfaces. Vertical air curtains on its sides underscore the car's imposing aura. The design journey culminates with a revamped lower air intake, punctuated by horizontal detailing and flanked by triangular vents.

In addition to these upgrades, the BMW X5 exhibits redesigned air breathers on its front side panels. These stand out with a fluid curve and, contingent on the chosen variant or package, come in chrome or black. They're further highlighted by trio-blade motifs at their tail end. Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, an integrated electric motor provides an additional boost of up to 12 hp and 147 lb-ft of torque. The 48V battery, located in the engine compartment, charges via adaptive recuperation. In the range-topping M60i version, a new 4.4-liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine is introduced, benefiting from advancements derived from motorsport. Combined with the 48V mild hybrid technology, this engine produces an impressive 523 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in an estimated 4.3 seconds.
