Everything's funny in Montreal during the month of July. Just for Laughs Festival, the world's largest and most renowned comedy festival brings together artists from all corners of the planet to laugh and celebrate Montreal's joie de vivre. It's a wonderful time to enjoy over 2,000 performances for the entire family including 1,300 free, outdoor shows in Montreal's splendid Quartiers des Spectacles. The Festival is 18 days of performances, street entertainers, urban street theatre, stand-up comedy and laughter.
July 27 to 29, 2023 -- Mont Tremblant
While many sporting events will be held this summer, this time, make way for humor with the first edition of the Festival Joyeux Mont-Tremblant to be held on July 28, 29 and 30, in collaboration with Desjardins and the Microbrasserie Saint -Arnould. During these three days, festival-goers will be able to go to the new public space on rue de Saint-Jovite and to the Lac Mercier church in the village of Mont-Tremblant to have fun. They will see street entertainers as well as comedy, theater and music shows, all free of charge, all day long. Two other evenings will also be free at the Royal Lepage Humania Gina Beaulieu Inc. public space. Indeed, on Friday evening, Mario Tessier will present his recent show, while on Saturday evening, Mado and his guests Grand gala d'humour will be on stage

Zoofest & OFF- JFL has been on the Montreal scene since 2009. Founded to provide a meeting place between the public and the newcomers in humor, theater and music, Zoofest is a playground for new faces just like the most established, 60 minutes at a time. From a first hour of material to the creation of a new concept show, or the running of a fifth solo show, Zoofest offers a freedom of creation to the artists it broadcasts by allowing them to think outside the box and offer original content to its curious festival-goers.
What makes Zoofest unique is the variety of its programming. With the heart of its mission to radiate new faces, festival-goers are invited every year to discover new artists in new concepts. Whether through concept shows that bring together comedians around common themes, established artists who take risks while playing new material, first-time performances or even humorous theater, the uniqueness of the program is which reminds festival-goers from year to year at the festival. With three to four shows a day in each of its rooms, we really can say that at Zoofest, every night is a like little weekend!

Every year, the Festival d'été de Québec attracts over one million festival-goers to Québec City's historical district for concerts by international superstars and top new talent. Avenue du Musée is pedestrianized this summer, between rue Sherbrooke Ouest and avenue du Docteur-Penfield. In summer, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) presents an ephemeral installation on avenue du Musée, bordered by its Sculpture Garden, which brings together one of the largest public art collections in the city. .Every summer since 2013, the MMFA has been inviting local creative talent to design and execute an installation for the portion of Du Musée Avenue that gets converted into a pedestrian walkway.

It's 1968: the Vietnam War is raging and the Age of Aquarius is coming. Claude Bukowski, a young farmer in Oklahoma, must leave his ranch to fight in Vietnam. Before joining the army, the future soldier decides to visit New York. There he meets a group of free-spirited hippie activists who are protesting against war, dreaming of a more peaceful, greener, fairer and more beautiful world.
Through infectious rock anthems, they celebrate free love and fight for a better America. But Claude is not convinced and the call of Vietnam is stronger, although he does not know if he will come back alive…
A seminal work of 60s counterculture, HAIR addresses themes that still resonate today, and its message of hope, love and peace remains more relevant than ever. With his adaptation, the director Serge Denoncourt intends to explore with passion, humor and sometimes irony, the values of peace and love, like a historical polaroid.
From Broadway to Tokyo, via Paris, Berlin and Sydney, HAIR has been rocking stages around the world for more than 50 years thanks to, among other things, the immortal choruses of Aquarius and Let the sunshine in.
