Since its founding in 1934, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal has distinguished itself as a leader in the orchestral life of Canada and Québec. Internationally acclaimed conductor Rafael Payare was named the OSM's Music Director Designate for the 2021--2022 season following a unanimous vote by the Orchestra's selection committee. The Venezuelan conductor will commence full duties in 2022--2023--his tenure will last a minimum of five years--becoming the ninth Music Director in the OSM's history.

Ballets Jazz Montréal has a long and rich history of excellence, innovation and above all, passion. To mark the company's 50th anniversary, its new artistic director, Alexandra Damiani, has put together an all-female triple bill that expresses the quintessence of her vision. Two iconic works, Aszure Barton's Les Chambres des Jacques and Crystal Pite's Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue, share the program with a new piece, We Can't Forget About What's His Name, by Ausia Jones, a young Ballets Jazz Montréal performer whose movement language is rooted in groove and counterpoint. Gardens of Light sets all three cultural gardens of the Botanical Garden aglow with light and magic, enchanting the thousands of visitors who come to enjoy this annual fall spectacle. Much more than an illuminated path, this popular fall event is an authentic gateway to three fascinating and inspiring cultures.
As per ancient tradition, the Chinese Garden displays its glittering traditional lanterns in various shapes and shares a fabulous fishing tale with visitors. The First Nations Garden features a multimedia experience highlighting the Sacred Tree, a giant poplar, symbol of the Circle of Life. As for the Japanese Garden, it leads visitors along a meditative illuminated path inspired by the seasons.

As proclaimed by the National Assembly, the event takes place every year across Quebec on the last Friday of September and the two days thereafter.
The programming takes its source in cultural mediation and offers to discover and celebrate culture trough all its forms. There will be thousands of activities organized by professional artists, artisans and cultural workers, business people, teachers, community workers, and municipal and government employees of all ethnicities.

Founded in 1984 by Yuli Turovsky, the I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra has been sharing its passion for classical music for over 35 years. The 15 exceptional musicians who make up the orchestra bring to life a varied repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the present day, accompanied by their principal guest conductor and artistic advisor Jean-François Rivest. With a program based on tradition, originality and innovation, the Orchestra stands out for the place it gives to numerous emerging and renowned artists with whom it partners to offer you a colorful and meaningful musical experience. End of September to late October
Québec is famous for its autumn colours because of the sugar maple trees. Also prevalant are the provincial yellow birch and the American beech. Try the Laurentian Mountains for one of the most beautiful displays of fall foliage in North America. Colours begin their peak at the end of September and continue until mid- to late-October in lower elevations and more southern locations. Celebrate the season by visiting resort town Mont-Tremblant for its annual Symphony of Colours festival.

Believe it or not, September unofficially marks the beginning of apple picking season in Montreal, with a handful of nearby orchards -- including the delightful Au Paradis des Fruits Dunham which not only proposes apples, but also has 5,500 blueberry bushes primed for picking -- opening their doors to the public, though interested parties are advised to call their orchard of choice before heading out as many only kick off the season the first weekend of September. Piknic Électronik Montreal is an outdoor electronic music event aiming to offer immersive, social experiences in a friendly environment. Located in an urban park just 10 minutes from downtown Montréal, he brings together thousands of electronic music enthusiasts every Sunday from May to September. June 15 to October 13, 2023 -- Du Musée Avenue
Avenue du Musée is pedestrianized this summer, between rue Sherbrooke Ouest and avenue du Docteur-Penfield. In summer, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) presents an ephemeral installation on avenue du Musée, bordered by its Sculpture Garden, which brings together one of the largest public art collections in the city. .Every summer since 2013, the MMFA has been inviting local creative talent to design and execute an installation for the portion of Du Musée Avenue that gets converted into a pedestrian walkway.

Every Sunday beginning on May 01 ending on September 30, 2023 -- Mont Royal Park
The Montreal Tamtams are a drum circle based in Montreal, Canada. One of the most original musical events in Montréal, this free festival takes place on Sundays, near the monument to Sir George-Étienne Cartier and in Mount Royal Park's surrounding green spaces. The Tamtam festivities start at 1 pm and continue until sunset. A colourful gathering of drummers, dancers, vendors and their admiring audiences. For twenty years, Montrealers and visitors have come to play music and dance, or just watch and listen. Tamtams, or simply "tams" as they are sometimes called by locals, began in 1978 and over the years have become one of the main tourist attractions of the city.

Aquazilla is a unique 30-by-35 meters inflatable structure, located at the Jean-Doré Beach, and is comprised of obstacles, slides and platforms for jumping into the water, and much more. A luminous experience in the heart of the Basilica Light unveils the richness of Notre-Dame's heritage and invites you to celebrate its beauty. Esplanade Tranquille is the newest public space in the Quartier des Spectacles. Montrealers are welcome to visit this fun and inviting all-seasons spot, inspired by urban backyards. Families and other visitors will discover a diverse and entertaining cultural program -- a true reflection of the city. Esplanade Tranquille is named in honour of the Tranquille bookstore, once located on the site, and its owner, Henri Tranquille (1916-2005). It is an important site in contemporary Quebec history, having hosted the launch of the Refus global manifesto in 1948.
Since July 20, 2017 -- Mont Tremblant
Montreal multimedia phenom Moment Factory has just launched a new nature walk. A night walk in search of the giant! Deep in the heart of Mont Tremblant, the last of the giants has awoken. Follow your sense of adventure to discover the secret he wants to share. The Tonga Lumina illuminated trail is a sensory experience in the forest. This 1.5-km nocturnal walk takes place on a stone dust pathway at the heart of nature. To start off, visitors show up at the bottom of the Flying Mile chairlift that will take them up to the midway station where they will be led to the entrance of the trail. After taking visitors on a brief ascension, the trail slowly weaves its way down the hill through the woods, crosses streams and clearings. Participants can anticipate being on the pathway an average of one hour. Departures are continuous from sunset to closing, with a maximum of 300 people admitted per half-hour on the course.

Loosely inspired by the history of Montreal, Cité Mémoire invites you to meet a host of characters who've witnessed the city's evolution first-hand. Poetic, dreamlike and occasionally playful, the tableaux come alive with images, words and music. Projected throughout Old Montreal, the work appears on the very walls that surround us, the ground on which we walk, the trees that frame our present. A creation by Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon, in collaboration with Michel Marc Bouchard.
